About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Estimator with 2–3 years of proven experience in the Australian residential construction industry. The successful candidate will be skilled in using BuildXact for estimating and will have strong knowledge of takeoffs, tenders, and quoting. A solid understanding of the National Construction Code (NCC) and Australian building regulations is essential. This role requires accuracy, attention to detail, and the ability to prepare competitive and well-structured tenders that meet client and project requirements.

Key Responsibilities

· Prepare accurate cost estimates, tenders, and quotes for residential construction projects.

· Conduct quantity take-offs and material/labour costings using BuildXact.

· Review project plans, drawings, and specifications to determine the scope of works.

· Ensure compliance with Australian NCC and relevant construction codes.

· Liaise with suppliers, subcontractors, and internal teams to source pricing and project details.

· Monitor and analyse project costs, identifying opportunities for cost savings and efficiency.

· Maintain accurate records of estimates, quotes, and project data.

· Support the preparation of tender submissions and presentations.

Skills and Experience Required

· 2–3 years' experience as an Estimator in the Australian residential construction industry.

· Proficiency in BuildXact (essential).

· Strong knowledge of estimating, tendering, and quoting processes.

· Solid understanding of Australian NCC and construction codes.

· Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and technical documents.

· Strong numerical and analytical skills with high attention to detail.

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for dealing with suppliers, subcontractors, and internal teams.

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).

Desirable

· Experience working on custom home builds or small to medium-scale residential projects.

· Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
