Job Description:Develop his categories so that all SKUs have strong volume and excellent quality. In order to do so he does everything possible to become an expert of his categories with excellent knowledge of the local as well as international markets. Develop as many Private Labels as possible.
Ensure lowest cost and best terms and conditions for the company. Works with all departments in collaboration in each subject, in order to get the best results for the company. In order to stay ahead of competition it is required to apply the principle of economy to the maximum extent.
Specific Powers and Responsibilities:He/She negotiates all purchasing conditions like purchasing prices, payment days and other relevant terms & conditions like minimum order quantities. He/She has the authority to buy products in exceptional cases if the company has a shortage. He/She suggests items to be added to his categories.
He/She suggests items to drop from his categories. He/She decides on additional manufacturers for the production of Private Labels. He/She performs regular quality tests, laboratory tests and tastings inside the company for the items in his category, especially before selecting a new item for the assortment.
He/She acts in accordance with the General Principles of Purchasing Policies. He/She clarifies severe quality issues and suggests necessary actions.
He/She follows up existing contracts with suppliers, and prior to the end of the duration he decides on new contracts. He/She informs the regions about important legal information or modifications, new purchasing conditions, packaging modifications. In case of shortages he decides on the volume by region.
He/She decides which supplier is in charge for deliveries to the different regions. He/She decides on laboratory tests for new and existing products. He/She is authorized to sign Purchasing contracts together with the Central Purchasing Officer.
