Accounting Officer

We are seeking a meticulous and reliable Accounting Officer to handle daily financial operations, ensure compliance with Philippine accounting and tax regulations, and maintain organized, audit-ready financial records. This role involves end-to-end accounting functions such as Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Taxation, Disbursement Management, and Financial Reporting. The ideal candidate is analytical, detail-focused, and committed to maintaining accuracy and integrity in all accounting activities.

Key Responsibilities

Accounts Payable (AP)

• Review supplier invoices and verify completeness of supporting documents and approvals.
• Monitor due dates and process timely payments to vendors.
• Reconcile supplier accounts and resolve any payment discrepancies.
• Keep AP records organized and ready for audit.

Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Prepare and issue invoices based on client agreements.
• Monitor receivables, follow up on outstanding balances, and assist with collections.
• Reconcile customer accounts and generate AR aging reports.
• Maintain accurate documentation of all AR transactions.

Taxation & Compliance

• Prepare and file VAT, EWT, and income tax returns in accordance with BIR guidelines.
• Maintain detailed and updated tax schedules for audit reference.
• Liaise with external auditors and government offices on tax-related matters.
• Stay informed on updates in Philippine tax laws and apply necessary changes.

Invoicing & Disbursement Management

• Validate invoice details, including pricing, taxes, and payment terms.
• Record invoices and payments accurately in the accounting system.
• Prepare check vouchers and related payment documentation for approval.
• Track and document all payment releases systematically.

General Accounting & Reporting

• Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Support internal and external audit processes by providing required reports and schedules.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP/IFRS and company financial policies.
• Recommend improvements to streamline accounting operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field.
• At least 1 year of experience in accounting or financial reporting (audit background is a plus).
• Skilled in using accounting systems such as QuickBooks, SAP, Xero, or Oracle.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUP, complex formulas).
• Solid understanding of GAAP, IFRS, and Philippine tax regulations; ERP exposure preferred.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Demonstrates integrity, discretion, and professionalism.
