Position Summary

The layout artist is responsible for creating clean, accurate, and visually appealing layouts for print and digital materials. This role ensures all designs follow client specifications, brand guidelines, and production requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Design & Layout

* Create and prepare layouts for brochures, packaging, labels, posters, flyers, and other print materials.

* Arrange text, photos, graphics, and other elements to ensure clarity, readability, and visual balance.

* Apply correct margins, bleeds, color profiles, and print settings.

Production Preparation

* Prepare final artwork files according to printing specifications.

* Check and correct errors in formatting, resolution, spacing, and alignment.

* Ensure all outputs are ready and compatible for plating, printing, or digital use.

Quality Control

* Review proofs and revise layouts based on feedback.

* Ensure accuracy in spelling, measurements, and color consistency.

* Detect and correct layout issues before production to avoid costly errors.

Collaboration

* Coordinate with designers, pre-press staff, and production teams to meet deadlines.

* Communicate with supervisors regarding job requirements, revisions, and status updates.

* Follow company design standards and workflow processes.

Tools & Software

* Proficient in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, or similar layout applications.

* Familiarity with pre-press and printing processes is an advantage.

Skills & Qualifications

* Experience in layout design or a related field.

* Strong attention to detail and ability to spot design and formatting errors.

* Good understanding of typography, spacing, and color principles.

* Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

* Strong communication and teamwork skills.
