Schedule: Monday–Friday, 6:30 AM–3:30 PM PHT
Salary Range: Php 50,000
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Audit & Assurance Assistant to support a respected Australian professional services firm. You will play a vital role in delivering high-quality financial statement audits for Australian clients while working fully remotely from the Philippines.
This role is ideal for someone with recent, hands-on external audit experience, who thrives in a process-driven and quality-focused environment.
Responsibilities as an Audit & Assurance Assistant
• Perform audit procedures assigned by the Auditor in Charge for financial statement audit engagements
• Prepare clear, well-structured working papers documenting audit procedures, data sources, and conclusions
• Apply sound professional judgment and scepticism during audit fieldwork
• Flag risks, issues, or variances to the Auditor in Charge in a timely manner
• Complete assigned tasks within timeline and budget constraints
• Track and log accurate time records; report potential budget issues early
• Contribute to audit workflow improvement and digital solutions
• Provide guidance to junior audit team members if required
• Engage with digital platforms as part of the firm's business development efforts
• Collaborate effectively with the audit engagement team while managing personal learning and development
Qualifications as an Audit & Assurance Assistant
• At least 2 years of recent experience in external financial statement audit (e.g., audit firm, BPO/KPO audit support)
• Bachelor's degree in Accountancy, Finance, or a related business discipline
• Working knowledge of audit procedures, audit documentation, and engagement files
• Proficient in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
• Excellent communication skills in English – both written and verbal
• Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and within a remote team
• Strong time management and consistent attention to accuracy and deadlines
• Willing to work Australian business hours
• Hands-on experience with Australian audit clients
• Understanding of AASB / IFRS and Australian auditing standards
• Familiarity with Australian Standards on Assurance Engagements (ASAE) or their international equivalents (ISAE)
• Knowledge of assurance frameworks, corporate governance, and internal controls
• Prior exposure to financial reporting or assurance-related legislation
• Experience supporting international clients in professional services or audit teams
