Internal Audit Consultant

Location: Cebu

Shift: 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM Monday - Friday

Arrangement: Hybrid

About this role. . .

This position provides support primarily to clients in the Australian market. The position has a heavy learning and development focus given staff employed at this level have limited experience in audit and assurance services. Employees at this level will receive constant supervision and guidance and will be expected to perform basic/intermediate risk, assurance and consulting tasks to assist them in developing their knowledge and also build client relationship skills that are required in higher level risk, assurance and consulting roles.

Key Responsibilities:

  • TECHNICAL

o Review and evaluate key policy and procedural documents during fieldwork

o Perform sample testing during fieldwork

o Develop an understanding of RAC methodologies, requirements and client's business

o Develop communication skills by assisting the Senior Consultants/Assistant Manager/Manager /Senior Manager in undertaking interviews/discussions with clients during fieldwork

o Prepare working papers to firm quality standards on all jobs

o Ensure all review points are dealt with appropriately

o Complete comments for inclusion in the draft report for areas worked on and identify issues and implications of the points raised

o Write quality reports for clients

  • LEADERSHIP / MANAGEMENT / DEVELOPMENT (Self & Other People) & TEAM

o Follows instructions of Senior Consultants/Assistant Manager/Manager /Senior Manager and asks questions if unsure (makes notes to ensure objectives of task clear)

o Attend and contribute to team meetings

o Attend training as required/organised by the firm

o Develop a working knowledge of basic RAC concepts and continue to build on this knowledge

o Actively self-educate, where a job demands skills and knowledge in an unknown area, with the assistance of the firm's resources

o Develop knowledge in relevant software used within Audit and Assurance Division (I.e. Caseware)

o Demonstrates the firm values on a day to day basis

  • CLIENT RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT

o Ensure senior staff are aware of any discussions with and comments made by clients

o Works to achieve specified deadlines, notifies senior staff member as soon as they realise they will be unable to meet deadlines

  • PRACTICE MANAGMENT / DEVELOPING OUR PROCESSES

o Develop understanding of current systems and processes and assist in the development / improvement of systems and processe

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Accounting / Business / Commerce / Management
  • At least 2 years' experience within Internal Audit / Risk
  • Preferable experience within professional services / consulting, but not essential
  • The ability to conduct operational reviews, financial systems reviews, compliance reviews and prepare internal audit reports
  • A qualification in CA / CPA / CIA or keen towards achieving this in the future
  • Keen to continue career in Internal Audit / Risk and learn Australian legislation, methodologies and processes.

  • Ability to prioritise (being able to differentiate between material and immaterial items) and manage time effectively
