JOB SUMMARY

Under the general guidance and the supervision of the Finance Director / President and within the limits of established policies and procedures and service skills manual of Culinary Adventures Inc.; A Cost Controller is responsible for controlling the project costs; this includes planning, developing, controlling, and forecasting the project's budget. Verifies costs with vendors and suppliers, estimating expenditures, and recommending cost-saving measures to upper management. The goal of a cost controller is to minimize the deviation from the budget and ensure that the project is completed within the approved budget.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Follows Culinary Adventures, Inc.  policies, procedures and service standards.
  • · Monitors and updates cost estimates for projects to ensure that costs are within expected ranges.
  • · Responsible to record information and produce reports periodically to help maintain a suitable inventory of food and beverage items for the entire F&B department.
  • · Responsible for changes in price of menu items based on the costing information they have collected and also actively takes part in engineering of the menu in terms of the pricing.
  • · Prepares variance analysis for Food and Beverage and communicating with relevant parties
  • · Reviews expense reports to ensure that expenses are reasonable and appropriate for the circumstances.
  • · Coordinates with other departments such as human resources, payroll, accounting, and finance to ensure that all costs are accurately tracked.
  • · Collects cost data from suppliers or subcontractors to track material costs.
  • · Prepares reports to management regarding costs and expenses.
  • · Manages supplier relationships to ensure that the company is receiving quality products at competitive prices.
  • · Provides critical assessment of all budgets and cost projections.
  • · Remains acutely aware of market trends that could impact resource costs.
  • · Keeps up to date on new vendors and possible cost-cutting partnerships.
  • · Analyzes invoices to ensure correct products/services were received at the expected cost.
  • Collaborates with department heads to strategize ways to minimize waste.
  • Understands the entire arc of the business and how productivity impacts profitability.
  • Commits to maximizing efficiency at all levels without compromising quality.
  • Develops and implements proactive solutions and cost-cutting measures.
  • Does other jobs assigned by management from time to time.
  • Job Qualifications:
  • Educational Attainment – Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Financial Management and Finance and Operations Management
  • Working Experience – 3 years relevant experience
  • Training's/Seminars Requirement – Anti- Money Laundering; Data &, Trade Controls, Bribery & Corruption

Skills and Proficiency

· Strong mathematical and analytical skills.

· Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.

· Excellent Financial Planning and Budgeting skills.

· Exceptionally well organized with an aptitude for data

· Negotiation Skills

· Knowledgeable in Project Management, Inventory Control, Forecasting and Procurement

· Knowledge of Microsoft Office Software such as MS Word, Excel, PPP and POS DCV

· Strong presentation skills, able to explain concepts concisely and accurately
