Purchaser/Purchasing Associate

The Purchasing Associate is primarily responsible for sourcing, procuring, and ensuring the timely delivery of medical supplies, equipment, and other hospital-related items. This position plays a critical role in maintaining seamless hospital operations by ensuring that all procurement activities are conducted in compliance with hospital policies, budgetary constraints, and established quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on price competitiveness, product quality, availability, reliability, and service standards.
- Process purchase requisitions from various departments and convert them into purchase orders in an accurate and timely manner.
- Coordinate closely with suppliers to guarantee prompt and complete delivery of ordered items.
- Negotiate pricing and contractual terms with suppliers to ensure cost efficiency and value for the organization.
- Monitor inventory levels regularly to prevent shortages or excessive stock accumulation.
- Maintain comprehensive and accurate procurement documentation, including price lists, supplier details, and order tracking records.
- Collaborate effectively with warehouse, finance, and end-user departments to ensure smooth order fulfillment and timely payment processing.
- Conduct market research and benchmarking to stay informed on pricing trends, new products, and industry best practices.
- Ensure strict adherence to hospital procurement policies and compliance with all relevant government regulations.
- Manage urgent and emergency purchases, particularly for critical patient-care supplies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 1–2 years of relevant purchasing experience, preferably in a healthcare or hospital setting.
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and familiarity with procurement systems.
- Knowledge of DOH and PhilHealth procurement guidelines is an advantage.
- Ability to perform effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Must be available to start immediately.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: Php20, Php25,000.00 per month
