The Medical City Iloilo is seeking a qualified Human Resource Specialist - Employee Engagement & Employee Relations who will play a pivotal role in enhancing the employee experience across all stages. This position is designed to ensure that employees are engaged, supported, and empowered through strategic HR initiatives that align with the institution's values and commitment to excellence.
This role reports directly to the Head of Human Capital Management
What's the Role All About?
Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Design and execute employee engagement programs that address psychological, emotional, and social needs, fostering a culture of inclusion and well-being
- Develop and execute strategies to increase employee morale and motivation
- Monitor and report on engagement metrics to identify trends and make recommendations for improvement
- Promote employee satisfaction through surveys, events, and feedback channels that drive engagement and retention.
- Collaborate with other departments to create initiatives and programs that promote employee engagement and a positive work environment.
- Provides guidance to employees regarding HR policies and procedures, ensuring that they understand their rights and responsibilities.
- Ensure adherence to policies and labor laws by conducting investigations, facilitating Transformative Corrective Actions through a respectful and solution-oriented approach to discipline, promoting mutual respect, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Serve as the primary contact for ER concerns, offering timely advice to employees and managers while fostering respectful workplace interactions.
- Help establish and maintain an open-door policy for employees to communicate with management
- Recognize and reward employees for exceptional work and contributions
- Maintains in-depth knowledge on labor laws, employment regulations, and industry standards and implements it to ensure organizational compliance, protect employee rights, and reduce legal risks.

An effective Human Resource Specialist must possess the following skills:

- Strategic HR Capabilities: Encompasses the technical competencies required to support departmental goals, such as resource management, business acumen, strategic thinking, and performance discipline.
- Professional Disposition and Character: Describes the personal attributes essential to the role, including leadership, confidentiality, motivation, interpersonal effectiveness, and a commitment to high-quality work.
- Professional Skills: Proficient in technical protocol writing, basic ethics, and computer applications including MS Office and marketing software.
- Communication & Creativity: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with a highly creative and innovative mindset.
Ideally, a candidate must be at least a graduate of Bachelor of Science in Psychology or Developmental Communication, but a graduate of any science course with Community Organizing, TOWS Analysis, Employee and Public Relations may be considered, with at least one (1) year of experience in employee engagement and employee relations is highly recommended, candidates with exposure in Public Relations, Employee Relations, or other engagement-focused roles are likewise encouraged to apply.
