Job Description – Desktop Software Asset ManagerOVERVIEWIn this role, the Software Asset Manager will provide expertise on Software Asset Management lifecycle, including analyzing and redesigning Software Asset Management processes, software requests, license pooling/checks/estimates, procurement assistance, software deployment, transfer, and retirement. RESPONSIBILITIESManage software assets and requests as they relate to the ITAM lifecycle for assigned portfolio of products/services and geographies, working towards consistent global coverage and responsibility

Develop, Review and Approve Software License Management processes and procedures

Establish and maintain a process/framework for tracking, usage, maintenance, and support of licenses and assets including ongoing control and governance along with robust communication to appropriate teams

Develop Workflows for Service Now Desktop Software Requests, Work with Forms Team to create Service Now forms and Validate Service Now Forms prior to production implementation

Action Global Desktop Software Request Queue for all software requests that require manual intervention

Maintain software standards and validated product lists within the software licensing management database

Manage approved desktop software table

Ensure software requests are fulfilled to meet SLAsLead weekly meetings with global desktop teams

Create software request statistics for monthly operations report

Drive compliance with legislative and vendor contractual requirements

Manage and coordinate audits by software publishers to ensure minimal financial impact

Manage life cycle of software assets from identification, requisition ordering, inventory, tracking, installation, maintenance to disposal

Ensure best practices for all asset types and processes are managed and sustained throughout the life cycle

Assist Procurement, Finance, and Legal departments in analyzing budgets, proposals, and vendor contracts for acquisition, monitoring, and compliance of software assets

Analyze large volume of software entitlement and deployment data

Work closely with the various IT groups responsible for various IT AssetsIdentify, document, and report license compliance issues and recommend solutions to resolve issues

Provide oversight and leadership to Software Asset Management Operations team

Delegate work to ensure effective execution of team/function deliverables

Ensure knowledge transfer and cross-training of team(s) to effectively support the businessQualificationsMINIMUM REQUIREMENTSBachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or equivalent work experience.5 Years Experience in IT Software Asset Management. ITL/SAM CertificationStrong working knowledge of ServiceNow, AD Groups & SCCMUnderstanding of software publishers' licensing models and software deployment and use rights
• Background in IT, good technical understanding of IT services

Ability to take direction and work independently while performing detailed work in a high-paced, dynamic multi-cultural environment and to handle multiple tasks/projects simultaneously.
