The Land Acquisition Officer handles the land and lot acquisition process from identifying specific opportunities to closing, communicate and cultivate relationships with outside brokers, developers and land owners to identify specific lands for investigation, acquisition, classification, conversion and utilization for energy development and related developments.

This position is responsible for finding all kinds of land acquisition opportunities and managing the whole process of land acquisition. This position must have close relationships with brokers, developers, city officials and land owners. This position should familiar with the whole process of land development not only land acquisition but also permitting requirements for developments. This position must be capable of analyzing the financial aspects of each development opportunity.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  1. Develops/continues relationships with land developers and land owners in order to obtain developed lots and raw land in targeted areas;
  2. Maintains close relationships with developers, brokers, city officials and landowners to identify raw land tracts for possible acquisition;
  3. Uses discretion and independent judgment to identify and evaluate various alternatives for lot and land acquisition and make recommendations to the Business Development Team;
  4. Negotiates deal terms with outside parties and assist in the negotiation of lot purchase and land purchase contracts;
  5. Maintains thorough knowledge of all lot and land transactions within target markets;
  6. Performs market analyses to determine current and future demographic trends to guide lot and land acquisition activities and make recommendations regarding impact of trends on Company acquisition strategies;
  7. Conducts land investigations, classifications and conversions;
  8. Conducts acquisition analysis studies, due diligence investigations, appraisal review, special business and economic studies;
  9. Remains knowledgeable about the development and platting process in all market areas.

  • Bachelors Degree of any Course
  • With at least 5 years relevant working experience in land acquisition, investigation and conversion
  • Should be able to build close relationships with brokers, developers, city officials and landowners; With high level of integrity, true to the company values and does not condone conflict of interest with own organization; With experience and understanding of the land acquisition and conversion process; Strong verbal and written communication skills; Willingness to travel within assigned geographic territory
