Job description: Sampling staff outlines duties focused on preparing, collecting, and recording information from samples, which can include physical products, environmental materials, or scientific data.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Prepare and collect samples from worksite
  • Observe, track, and record sample characteristics (including color, texture, shape, size, smell, density, weight, temperature, etc.)
  • Compare sample to standard model to quickly assess basic quality of sample
  • Test samples and confirm that they conform to industry standards
  • Transport samples to a specialized laboratory for testing if necessary
  • Ensure sampling machinery and tools are clean and in a workable condition, making any necessary repairs
  • Monitor and oversee machines that work automatically (auto-counters, sifters, etc.)
  • Count, measure, weigh and label samples as needed
  • Record sample data and enter into a document or spreadsheet
  • Create and present detailed reports on sample findings
  • Report any irregular findings to superior.
  • Maintain all sample reports and ensure they are accurate and up to date

Qualifications

  • Must be a Senior High School Graduate/ Bachelor's degree
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Willing to learn and to be train
