Responsible for food preparation and maintaining kitchen hygiene, chopping ingredients, cooking meals, and cleaning workstations and floors. They also manage inventory, receive deliveries, adhere to food safety regulations, and work collaboratively with other team members to ensure the smooth operation of the kitchen.

Key Responsibilities

  • Food Preparation:Washing, peeling, chopping, and measuring ingredients according to recipes and company standards.
  • Cooking:Assisting with cooking tasks and preparing dishes, ensuring proper portion control and adherence to food quality standards.
  • Sanitation and Cleaning:Maintaining a clean and organized work area by washing dishes, utensils, and equipment, and sanitizing surfaces.
  • Kitchen Maintenance:Sweeping and mopping floors, emptying trash, and ensuring all areas meet health and safety regulations.
  • Inventory Management:Receiving and storing food and supplies, monitoring stock levels, and notifying supervisors when items need to be replenished.
  • Food Safety:Following proper food handling and storage procedures to prevent cross-contamination and ensure food safety.
  • Team Collaboration:Working effectively with other kitchen staff, including chefs and assistants, to ensure efficient kitchen operations.

Essential Skills and Requirements

  • Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy objects.
  • Communication Skills: Clear verbal communication for effective collaboration within the kitchen team.
  • Organization: Strong organizational skills for managing tasks and maintaining a tidy workspace.
  • Food Safety Knowledge: Understanding of food safety, sanitation, and health regulations.
  • Time Management: Ability to work efficiently and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
