Job Description

As a Payroll Officer, you will ensure accurate payroll processing, support financial reconciliations, and handle compliance activities while contributing to a collaborative finance team. Your work will be essential in maintaining efficiency, integrity, and smooth operations.

The Qualifications We Seek

• At least 1 year of relevant experience
• Proven ability to complete tasks responsibly and reliably, independently and within a team.
• Strong communication skills with openness to giving and receiving feedback.
• Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• High attention to detail in regular and complex financial transactions.
• Foundational ability in financial reconciliations.
• Understanding of complex processes, technical systems, and programs.
• Relevant knowledge for the role, including financial and accounting concepts (GST, debit, credits).
• Foundational understanding of not-for-profit operations in Australia.

Your Daily Tasks

• Align tasks and deliverables to the mission and strategy of the organization.
• Manage work effectively to contribute to team results and achievements.
• Demonstrate and uphold the values and behaviors of the organization.
• Collaborate within the finance team, ensuring timely communication of results.
• Prepare and coordinate compliance activities related to payroll.
• Execute financial processes, including accounts payable/receivable, income, and bank reconciliations.
• Independently manage recurring processes and ensure timely completion.
• Handle physical finance mail and banking duties, reporting discrepancies.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
• Participate in prayer and worship activities, as encouraged.
• Perform other duties consistent with the role as required.
