Job Summary:

The Paralegal for Skip-Tracing and Legal Collections provides operational support to the Legal Collections Team by gathering information, coordinating with agencies, and monitoring cases involving repossessions, voluntary surrenders, and manual deletions. The role ensures that all case movements and borrower engagements are properly documented, verified, and compliant with internal legal protocols.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct skip-tracing and asset verification activities in coordination with external collection agencies and field partners.

Monitor court orders, case status, and pull-out schedules, ensuring timely endorsement to assigned legal supervisors or lawyers.

Receive, organize, and index manual deletion memos, borrower communications, and court orders in coordination with the Legal Docket Officer.

Perform initial assessment of received documents to determine whether they are for calendaring, filing, or escalation to the Legal Supervisors or Associate Lawyers.

Maintain accurate and up-to-date case dockets and trackers for repossessed, surrendered, or litigated accounts.

Draft and prepare basic legal correspondence, transmittal letters, and internal memos for review by supervising lawyers.

Coordinate with Operations and Collections divisions on vehicle custody, documentation requirements, and incident reports.

Provide administrative assistance in filing, notarization, and record organization of pleadings and court submissions.

Assist in gathering evidence, witness statements, and reports needed for pending or potential litigation.

Support Associate Lawyers and Legal Supervisors in implementing internal compliance standards and data privacy protocols.
