Quality Assurance Automation Engineer

We are seeking a skilled QA Engineer to join our growing team at Coto, a digital emotional wellness platform offering 24x7 expert consultations across mental health, relationships, astrology, and alternative healing. As we expand into international markets (Canada, US, UK), you'll play a crucial role in ensuring our platform delivers seamless, high-quality experiences across all touchpoints.

Key ResponsibilitiesTesting & Quality Assurance

• Conduct comprehensive mobile testing across iOS and Android platforms for our wellness consultation app
• Perform thorough API testing to ensure robust backend services for real-time expert consultations
• Execute end-to-end testing for various session formats (Live Video, Audio, Chat, Anonymous sessions)
• Validate payment integrations and pricing multipliers across different geographies and expert tiers

Automation & AI Integration

• Design and implement test automation frameworks using tools like Selenium WebDriver, Appium, Playwright, or Cypress
• Leverage AI-powered automation tools (TestCraft, Testim, Mabl, or Functionize) for intelligent test creation and maintenance
• Utilize AI tools like ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot, or specialized QA AI assistants to generate comprehensive test cases and automation scripts
• Implement AI-driven visual testing and self-healing test automation
• Write test cases in Gherkin format following BDD principles using tools like Cucumber or SpecFlow
• Maintain and enhance automated test suites for continuous integration using Jenkins, GitLab CI, or GitHub Actions

Test Management & Reporting

• Manage test cases and test execution using tools like Zephyr, TestRail, Azure Test Plans, or Jira/Xray
• Create comprehensive test plans, test strategies, and maintain test case repositories
• Generate detailed testing reports including defect analysis, test coverage metrics, and quality dashboards
• Prepare executive summaries and quality reports for stakeholders
• Maintain traceability matrices linking requirements to test cases and defects
• Use AI tools to analyze test results and generate insights for continuous improvement

Data Validation & Monitoring

• Craft and execute MongoDB queries for data validation and integrity testing
• Use AI tools to analyze and debug data inconsistencies
• Collaborate with data teams to ensure accurate user journey tracking and expert matching algorithms

Observability & Performance

• Monitor application performance using Datadog and similar telemetry tools
• Set up alerts and dashboards for critical user flows and expert consultation sessions
• Analyze performance metrics and identify optimization opportunities

Quality Strategy

• Develop testing strategies for AI-driven features including personalized user journeys and expert matching
• Ensure quality standards for trust & safety features and community moderation
• Test gamification elements, loyalty programs, and user engagement features
• Analyze test metrics and KPIs to drive quality improvements and process optimization

Required QualificationsTechnical Skills

• 3+ years of experience in mobile testing (iOS/Android)
• Strong expertise in API testing using tools like Postman, REST Assured, SoapUI, or Newman
• Proficiency in test automation frameworks (Selenium WebDriver, Appium, Playwright, Cypress, or Robot Framework)
• Experience with AI-powered testing tools like Testim, Mabl, TestCraft, or Functionize
• Hands-on experience with test management tools (Zephyr, TestRail, Azure Test Plans, Jira/Xray)
• Experience with MongoDB queries and database testing
• Knowledge of telemetry and monitoring tools (Datadog preferred)
• Understanding of Gherkin syntax and BDD methodology using Cucumber/SpecFlow

AI & Innovation

• Experience using AI tools (ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot, Bard) for test case generation and automation script creation
• Familiarity with AI-assisted debugging, data analysis, and intelligent test maintenance
• Knowledge of AI-powered visual regression testing and self-healing automation
• Experience with prompt engineering for QA-specific AI applications
• Openness to leveraging emerging AI technologies in QA processes

General Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and version control (Git)
• Proficiency in at least one programming language (Java, Python, JavaScript, or C#)
• Experience in creating detailed test documentation and quality reports
• Understanding of agile development methodologies
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work in cross-functional teams

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in wellness, healthcare, or consumer-facing applications
• Knowledge of security testing and compliance requirements
• Familiarity with performance testing tools
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
• Understanding of real-time communication systems and video/audio streaming
