About the Role
Blueshift Energy is seeking a highly motivated and versatile IT Systems Administrator/Specialist to manage our internal technology infrastructure, support our growing team, and ensure the reliability of the specialized systems.
The ideal candidate will be a 'jack-of-all-trades' who can handle everything from day-to-day desktop support and network administration to ensuring the integrity and security of the data that powers our energy solutions.
Key Responsibilities1. Internal IT Support & Infrastructure
- Provide timely Tier 1 and Tier 2 technical support (in-person and remote) for all employees, troubleshooting issues related to hardware (laptops, printers, mobile devices), software, and internal applications (e.g., MS Office 365/Google Workspace).
- Manage the procurement, deployment, and inventory of all company IT assets, ensuring all equipment is accounted for, up-to-date, and secure.
- Administer user accounts and access permissions across various platforms (onboarding/off-boarding, security groups).
- Maintain the office network, Wi-Fi, and VPN access, ensuring high-speed connectivity and minimal downtime for all office and remote staff.
- Implement and enforce cybersecurity policies, including firewall management, antivirus protection, and regular security audits to protect sensitive company and customer data.
- Manage data backup and recovery procedures, ensuring business continuity in the event of a system failure or disaster.
- Monitor system performance and perform proactive maintenance and upgrades to servers, storage systems, and network components.
- Act as the technical liaison between the IT department and the Engineering/Operations teams.
- Provide technical support for remote energy monitoring software and hardware used in solar installations (e.g., inverter communications, data loggers, monitoring portals).
- Ensure the reliable flow of real-time data from deployed solar systems back to company analytics platforms.
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Strong working knowledge of networking (TCP/IP, LAN/WAN, DNS, DHCP), Microsoft Windows/Server environments, and cloud services (e.g., Azure, AWS).
- Highly resourceful and capable of quickly diagnosing and resolving a wide range of technical issues independently.
- A strong communicator who can explain complex technical issues to non-technical staff.
- Detail-oriented and organized, especially regarding inventory and system documentation.
