Assists senior engineers in planning, designing, and executing mining operations, focusing on tasks like mine design, production monitoring, and safety protocols. Key duties include supporting mine plans, collecting data, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental standards, often involving collaboration with other professionals and daily monitoring of site activities.

Key responsibilities

  • Mine planning and design: Assist in developing and maintaining short-term and medium-term mine plans, and contribute to the design of mine layouts.
  • Production monitoring: Support the monitoring of daily production activities, including drilling, hauling, and ore extraction, and help prepare performance reports.
  • Data collection and analysis: Conduct field surveys, collect geological data, and assist with mine surveying to update progress.
  • Safety and compliance: Help enforce health and safety regulations, participate in safety programs, and ensure compliance with environmental standards.
  • Reporting and documentation: Prepare technical reports, update mine models, and provide necessary plans and sections to crews.
  • Coordination and collaboration: Work with senior engineers, geologists, surveyors, and equipment operators to ensure efficient implementation of plans.
