Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor daily, weekly, and monthly mining costs (drilling, hauling, loading, overburden removal, consumables, fuel, manpower, etc.).

  • Validate contractor billings and verify quantities such as BCM moved, ore tonnage delivered, and equipment hours.

  • Assist in preparing operating budgets and updating cost forecasts.
  • Analyze cost variances and recommend corrective actions.
  • Prepare cost dashboards and KPI reports (cost per ton mined/shipped, fuel cost per BCM contractor performance and in-house performance etc.).
  • Coordinate with Mine Engineering, Operations, Procurement, and Accounting for accurate cost and production data.
  • Provide cost inputs for new pits, sequences, and operational changes.
  • Implement cost control tools, templates, and reporting systems.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Accounting, or related field.
  • At least 3 years' experience in cost control or operations analysis, preferably in mining (nickel/open pit is an advantage).
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in MS Excel.
  • Ability to understand production data, equipment productivity, and mining cost drivers.
  • Strong attention to detail, reliability, and communication skills.
  • Willing to work onsite in a mining environment.
