About the role

We are seeking an experienced Chief Mechanic to join our team at Basic Hauling and Logistic Inc., located in Antipolo City, Rizal. In this full-time role, you will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance and repair of our fleet of commercial vehicles, ensuring they are well-maintained and operating at optimal performance levels.

What you'll be doing

  1. Manage a team of mechanics and technicians to carry out routine inspections, preventative maintenance, and repairs on our fleet of trucks, vans, and other commercial vehicles
  2. Diagnose and troubleshoot complex mechanical issues, developing effective solutions to minimise downtime and maximise vehicle uptime
  3. Oversee the maintenance of comprehensive service records and vehicle history logs
  4. Implement and enforce safety protocols to ensure the safe operation of all vehicles
  5. Collaborate with the logistics team to schedule maintenance and repairs to minimise disruptions to our operations
  6. Stay up-to-date with the latest automotive technologies, techniques, and industry best practices
  7. Mentor and train junior mechanics to develop their skills and expertise

What we're looking for

  1. Minimum 5 years of experience as a Chief Mechanic or in a similar senior automotive maintenance role
  2. Strong technical expertise in the maintenance and repair of commercial vehicles, including knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems
  3. Proficient in diagnostic testing, problem-solving, and developing effective repair solutions
  4. Excellent communication and leadership skills to effectively manage a team of mechanics
  5. Thorough understanding of relevant safety regulations and best practices in the automotive industry
  6. Ability to work under pressure and prioritise tasks to meet tight deadlines
  7. Familiarity with fleet management software and digital maintenance tracking systems
