Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree
    in Computer Science, IT, or related field
  • 2–3 years
    of experience in
    network engineering
    , focusing on SD-WAN implementation
  • Knowledge of
    Cisco, Cato, and Fortinet SD-WAN technologies (or similar)
  • Strong understanding of
    network protocols, routing, and switching
  • Proficient in
    network monitoring and troubleshooting
  • Ability to
    work independently and in a team

Required Technical Skills

The TOR lists these as
mandatory
technical competencies:

  • Strong knowledge of
    SD-WAN architecture and deployment
  • Experience with
    network security protocols and firewalls
  • Ability to
    configure and manage routers, switches, and other network devices
  • Familiarity with
    MPLS, VPN, and WAN technologies
  • Knowledge of
    Quality of Service (QoS)
    and traffic shaping
  • Understanding of
    cloud networking
    (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
  • Familiarity with
    network performance monitoring tools
    (e.g., SolarWinds, Nagios)

The Network Specialist will:

  • Collaborate with the project vendor
    to support and coordinate SD-WAN deployment activities.
  • Review and endorse
    all technical documents submitted by the vendor (plans, timelines, test strategies, accomplishment reports).
  • Ensure adherence
    of vendor to testing best practices, standards, and procedures.
  • Oversee and validate network connectivity
    to critical business applications during and after cut-over.
  • Identify, raise, and monitor potential risks
    , and require the vendor to develop contingency plans.
  • Coordinate with various project stakeholders
    to ensure smooth project implementation.
  • Serve as first-level support
    for SD-WAN-related issues and escalate to vendor support when necessary.
  • Provide regular status updates and reports
    to project stakeholders.
  • Continuously monitor network performance
    , resolve issues, and communicate updates during the hyper-care period.
  • Provide knowledge transfer
    to the Operations Team on issues/incidents encountered during hyper-care to ensure post-deployment stability.
