Overview

The
Permit QC Specialist
is responsible for reviewing, tracking, and ensuring the quality and compliance of permits related to telecommunications and fiber network construction. This role requires coordination with municipalities, engineering teams, and permitting specialists to ensure all submissions meet jurisdictional requirements and client expectations. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the permitting process, experience with FTTH projects, and proficiency in AutoCAD and GIS software.

Responsibilities

  • Review permits for quality control, including Right-of-Way (ROW) and/or Pole Make Ready applications.
  • Track and manage municipality requirements and client expectations across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Collaborate with designers and permit specialists to understand and verify engineered designs.
  • Ensure compliance with city, county, and state permitting standards and regulations.
  • Maintain accurate records of permit reviews, tracking progress and ensuring timely approvals.
  • Communicate effectively with internal teams and external agencies to resolve discrepancies or delays.
  • Support continuous process improvement and quality assurance within the permitting function.

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of progressively challenging permitting experience.
  • 2–3 years of experience with FTTH (Fiber to the Home) permitting projects.
  • Strong understanding of all phases of the permitting process.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ability to learn custom software systems.
  • Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD and one or more GIS software applications.
  • Proven record of delivering high-quality work with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse teams and support cross-functional departments.
