AI-First Phaser Game Developer (Claude Code Power-User)

Location: Remote (Global)

Type: Contract / Full-Time

About the Role

We're building experimental, AI-assisted browser and mobile games powered by Phaser 3 — and we want someone who can code with AI, not around it.

You'll work side-by-side with Claude Code as part of your daily workflow, using AI-assisted generation, refactoring, and iteration to ship fast, polished prototypes and scalable games.

What You'll Do
  • Design and develop 2D and pseudo-3D browser games using Phaser 3 (or Phaser 4).
  • Collaborate directly with Claude Code to prototype, refactor, and debug gameplay systems.

  • Build AI-driven gameplay elements — for example:

  • procedural level generation

  • adaptive difficulty tuning
  • AI-assisted NPC or quest logic
  • Integrate with backend APIs (e.g., Laravel/Vue-based or Node/Express backends).
  • Optimize for mobile browsers and desktop using WebGL and Canvas fallback.
  • Work with designers to translate pixel art and assets into performant in-game objects.
  • Use Claude Code for continuous documentation, code reviews, and codebase reasoning.
You Should Have
  • 2+ year of Phaser 3/4 experience, including scenes, physics (Arcade/Matter), tilemaps, and animations.
  • Proven experience using Claude Code or other AI-pair-programming tools (Anthropic preferred).
  • Strong understanding of JavaScript/TypeScript, modern bundlers (Vite/Webpack), and ES modules.
  • Experience with REST or GraphQL integrations.
  • A solid grasp of browser performance optimization and memory profiling.
  • A creative problem-solver mindset with a taste for fast iteration cycles.
Bonus Points
  • Experience connecting game data to AI inference pipelines (Claude, OpenAI, Replicate, etc.).
  • Familiarity with pixel art pipelines and retro-aesthetic UIs.
  • Prior experience in gamified web platforms or collectible systems.
Tools & Stack
  • Phaser 3/4, Claude Code, Vite, TypeScript, Node, GitHub Actions.
  • (Optional) Laravel/Vue backend integration if you've worked with full-stack features.
