We are a growing café and restaurant dedicated to great food, exceptional service, and creating memorable customer experiences. As part of our commitment to excellence, we are looking for a detail-oriented team to ensure efficiency and excellent customer experience in our day-to-day operations.

Key Responsibilities

1. Food Preparation & Mise en Place - "Mise en place" (French for "everything in its place") means preparing and organizing all ingredients before service begins.

2. Prepping Ingredients - Washing, chopping, marinating, and portioning all components needed for menu items (e.g., dicing onions, cooking bacon, portioning sandwich fillings).

3. Preparing Menu Items - Making bases, spreads, and items in advance (e.g., boiling eggs for salads, making chicken salad, preparing soup batches).

4. Setting Up Stations - Organizing their cooking station with all necessary ingredients, tools, and equipment for efficient service.

5. Cooking & Assembling Menu Items - executing orders accurately, quickly, and to standard.

6. Following Recipes - Precisely preparing all food items according to the cafe's established recipes to ensure consistency in taste, quality, and presentation every time.

7. Operating Equipment - Safely and efficiently using a variety of kitchen equipment, including grills, sandwich presses, fryers, ovens, and stovetops.
8. Plating and Presentation - Assembling dishes (like sandwiches, salads, and breakfast plates) in an appealing and consistent manner before they are served.

9. Managing Multiple Orders - Working efficiently during rushes to cook multiple orders simultaneously without compromising on quality or speed.

10. Maintaining Cleanliness & Food Safety Standards

11. Adhering to Safety Protocols - Strictly following all local health department codes and regulations.

12. Preventing Cross-Contamination - Using separate cutting boards and utensils for different food types (e.g., raw meat vs. vegetables) and maintaining clean workspaces.
13. Proper Food Storage - Correctly labeling, dating, and storing all prepped ingredients and leftovers at safe temperatures (following FIFO - First In, First Out).

14. Station Cleaning - Cleaning all kitchen surfaces, equipment, and tools during and at the end of each shift.

15. Inventory & Stock Management (Kitchen-Level)

16. Monitoring Stock Levels - Keeping track of prepped ingredients and notifying the manager or purchasing officer when supplies are running low.

17. Rotating Stock - Using the oldest products first (FIFO method) to minimize waste from spoilage.
18. Receiving and Storing Orders - Assisting with receiving food deliveries, verifying quantities and quality, and storing them immediately and correctly.

19. Reducing Waste - accurately portioning ingredients and properly storing food to minimize waste and control food costs.

20. Teamwork & Communication

21. Communicating with Front-of-House - Coordinating with servers on order timing, informing them of menu item shortages ("86ing" an item), and clarifying special customer requests.

22. Collaborating with Kitchen Team - Working in sync with other cooks, dishwashers, and the head chef/manager to ensure the entire kitchen operates efficiently.
23. Adapting to Pace - Adjusting their workflow to match the pace of the cafe, whether during a slow period or a hectic lunch rush.

Qualifications

• F&B Course, Culinary (Kitchen) Courses
• Fresh Graduate of related course or with at least 6 mos – 1 yr related experience
• Good Cooking skills, Skilled in operating and using kitchen equipment
• Diligent, disciplined, healthy or well body condition, honest

Starting Salary

P13,600/month
