Duties and Responsibilities:
- Legal and Compliance: assisting and reviewing policies and procedures related to all compliance areas during the audit.
- Contract management: drafting/reviewing site lease agreements based on our templates
- Templates: assisting the team in sourcing and creating templates for various agreements and adapting them for regional markets
- Manuals & systems: helping create manuals and processes to get the legal function to work better
- Knowledge management: assisting the legal team in spreading awareness about relevant laws
- Training: sharing legal know-how across the company to help manage risk
- Miscellaneous: Documentation related assistance to the business and legal teams
Key skillsets & Personality traits
- Law/Juris Doctor Degree from a good university with robust academic credentials preferably a Juris Doctor/Bachelor of Law graduate.
- With at least 5 years of relevant experience.
- Top-notch English language drafting skills. You must be adept at international business English. No Latin, no colloquialisms & definitely no 18th-century legalese
- Attention to detail is an absolute must. (Did you spot the error in this sentence already?)
- Strong communication skills. You should be able to present issues effectively to a large group of people. (Don't just talk to yourself)
- Ability to establish and maintain strong relationships with various business functions
- Ability to work independently with little or no supervision, prioritize goals and manage time effectively
- Willingness to acquire new skill sets and a mild obsession to improve
- Must greatly value her/his own personal integrity
