What You'll Do
As a Legal and Compliance Officer – Junior Lawyer, you will play an integral role in safeguarding the organisation's interests by providing expert support across a broad spectrum of legal matters. Your day-to-day activities will involve close collaboration with both internal teams and external stakeholders as you help draft contracts, review agreements, conduct research on evolving regulations, and monitor compliance initiatives. - Assist in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts, agreements, and company policies to ensure alignment with current laws and internal standards.
- Conduct comprehensive legal research on fintech regulations, financial compliance requirements, and data privacy laws relevant to business operations.
- Support the legal team in managing disputes, responding to regulatory inquiries, and assisting with litigation matters as they arise.
- Monitor ongoing regulatory developments in fintech, financial services, and data protection laws to keep the organisation informed of changes impacting compliance.
- Contribute to the implementation of compliance programmes by helping develop policies and delivering training sessions across departments.
- Prepare detailed reports and submissions for regulatory authorities while ensuring all documentation meets required standards.
- Support internal audits and compliance assessments by maintaining accurate records of all legal and compliance documentation.
- Identify potential legal or compliance risks within business processes and provide thoughtful recommendations for effective mitigation strategies.
- Assist with due diligence processes involving business partners, vendors, and third-party service providers to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with internal teams to promote understanding of Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Know Your Customer (KYC), and other key regulatory obligations.

- Bachelor's Degree in Law from an accredited institution; must be a member in good standing of the Philippine Bar with demonstrated commitment to professional ethics.
- At least 2–3 years of experience working in corporate law or a related field such as financial services or fintech regulation.
- Proven background in drafting contracts, negotiating agreements, and managing compliance frameworks within regulated environments.
- Solid understanding of Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP), Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), National Privacy Commission (NPC) regulations including AMLA (Anti-Money Laundering Act) and Data Privacy Act requirements.
- Excellent skills in legal research combined with strong analytical abilities that enable you to interpret complex legislation effectively.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills allowing you to convey technical information clearly across diverse audiences.
- Demonstrated high level of integrity, professionalism, discretion, and keen attention to detail when handling sensitive information or confidential documents.
