We are looking for a Safety/Site Supervisor with at least 2 years experience which is generally involves the management and supervision of a construction site in accordance with health and safety guidelines. It is the responsibility of the site supervisor to assess hazards, determine risks, conduct regular inspections and maintain safety programme.

Construction Site Safety Supervisor perform a wide range of functions/duties in making sure that construction sites or workplaces are safe for the daily operation of workers at all times.

Product Knowledge

  1. To study and master all information about the product/s and services being carried by the company.

As Site Supervisor Job Description:

  1. Supervising workers, subcontractors and work activities.

  2. Preparing and presenting site inductions, safety briefings and toolbox talks.

  3. Assessing and managing safety hazards.

  4. Ensuring appropriate site rules and welfare facilities are in place.

  5. Carrying out regular inspections.

  6. Helping project managers to plan the work programme.

  7. Helping co-ordinate deliveries of materials, plant and equipment.

  8. Completing records for site reports.

  9. Attending site management meetings.

  10. Carrying out regular inspections to ensure compliance with relevant legal requirements, processes and procedures.

  11. Raising safety concerns at the appropriate level.

  12. Resolving problems and implementing improvements.

  13. Organising and overseeing external inspections, such as with a health and safety inspector.

  14. Providing emergency first aid if required.

As Safety Officer Job Description:

  1. Supervises day-to-day activities within a particular construction workplace

  2. Ensures that workers make use of necessary protective equipment like helmets, hand gloves, welding shades etc., where and when necessary

  3. Investigates accidents and tackle their causes

  4. Takes note of workers' safety concerns and immediately acts on them

  5. Arranges training programs on safety measures within the workplace

  6. Develops plans for emergency procedures with the consent of the manager(s) of the workplace

  7. Receives and acts on reports regarding safety concerns from workers within the construction site/workplace

  8. Serves as a link between workers and top management when it comes to issues that have to do with the safety and proper organization of the workplace

  9. Introduces measures that will help curb accidents within the workplace.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  1. Must have excellent communication skills on all fronts

  2. Must be someone that pays keen attention to details at all times

  3. Must have good organizational abilities

  4. Must be able and willing to coordinate the activities of other workers in safety-related matters

  5. Must be someone that has good interpersonal skills

  6. Must be proactive and diligent in carrying out your duties

  7. Must never delay in acting towards any hazardous situation

  8. Possession of excellent leadership skills is a must

  9. Possession in a field related to construction, electrical and civil engineering

  10. A certification in occupational health safety is also required

  11. A minimum of 2 years work experience as a safety officer/ site supervisor in a similar working environment

  12. A College degree with lighting experience would be of added advantage
