Job Summary: The Airfreight Operations Officer is responsible for overseeing the daily air cargo operations, ensuring the smooth handling of both import and export shipments. This role requires a strong understanding of international airfreight procedures, regulatory compliance, and operational best practices. Additionally, the role involves managing rate updates and billing processes, and implementing continuous improvements to optimize efficiency, accuracy, and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise daily air freight operations for both import and export shipments.
  • Ensure timely and accurate documentation (e.g., airway bills, customs declarations).
  • Coordinate with airlines, ground handlers, customs brokers, and internal teams.
  • Update rate cards for new lanes and services, managing billing and freight audit processes.
  • Address client inquiries and issues related to shipments.
  • Monitor KPIs and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce errors.
  • Enforce safety and security protocols, including proper handling of dangerous goods and restricted cargo.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., IATA, FIATA, DG certification) are a strong advantage.
  • 3-5 years of experience in airfreight operations, logistics, and account management
  • Familiarity with international shipping, customs regulations, and documentation.
  • Computer Literate (MS Office, Excel, SAP, etc.)
  • License Customer Broker is preferred, but not required

Language Skills:

  • Fluent in English (written and spoken)
