Job Description – Senior Quantity Surveyor

Position Title: Senior Quantity SurveyorDepartment: Commercial / Cost Control

Reports To: Project Manager / Commercial Manager

Location: Quezon City - MRT 7 Station 6 Project

Job Summary:

The Senior Quantity Surveyor is responsible for managing all costs related to building and civil engineering projects, from initial estimates to final accounts. The role ensures value for money while maintaining the required standards and quality. The Senior QS will lead cost management activities, handle contract administration, and provide commercial advice to support project success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, review, and manage cost estimates, budgets, and bills of quantities.
  • Lead tendering processes, including preparation of tender documents, evaluation, and negotiation with contractors/suppliers.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and cost analysis for projects.
  • Manage variations, claims, and change orders, ensuring proper documentation and approval.
  • Monitor project costs, financial progress, and cash flow to ensure budget compliance.
  • Prepare interim and final valuations, progress claims, and payments to contractors.
  • Provide advice on contract matters, risk management, and procurement strategies.
  • Collaborate with engineers, architects, and project managers to ensure cost-effective solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with legal, contractual, and company standards.
  • Lead and mentor junior quantity surveyors and provide technical guidance.
  • Prepare detailed cost reports and present findings to management and clients.
  • Handle final account settlements and close-out reports.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or related field.
  • Licensed/Certified Quantity Surveyor (preferred).
  • Minimum of 7–10 years of relevant experience, with at least 3 years in a senior role.
  • Strong knowledge of construction contracts (e.g., FIDIC, NEC, local contracts).
  • Excellent skills in cost estimation, tendering, and contract administration.
  • Proficiency in QS software (e.g., CostX, Planswift, Candy, or similar) and MS Office.
  • Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage a team.
  • Excellent communication and reporting skills.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Php45, Php50,000.00 per month

Work Location: In person
