About the role

Gothong Southern Shipping Lines, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Vendor Management Head to join our dynamic team. In this full-time role based in Manila City, Metro Manila, you will play a crucial part in overseeing and streamlining our vendor relationships, ensuring we maintain a robust and reliable supply chain to support our core manufacturing, transport and logistics operations.

What you'll be doing

  • Develop and implement comprehensive vendor management strategies to enhance supplier performance, control costs, and mitigate risks
  • Negotiate favourable contract terms and service level agreements with vendors to secure the best value for the company
  • Continuously monitor vendor performance and compliance, taking corrective actions where necessary
  • Lead vendor selection, onboarding, and relationship management processes
  • Identify opportunities to consolidate and optimise our vendor base, driving efficiencies and cost savings
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to align vendor activities with the company's strategic objectives
  • Provide expert guidance and training to internal stakeholders on vendor management best practices
  • Maintain robust vendor data and reporting systems to support informed decision-making

What we're looking for

  • Minimum 8 years of experience in vendor/supplier management, preferably within the manufacturing, transport or logistics industry
  • Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills to secure favourable contract terms
  • Proficient in data analysis and reporting to drive evidence-based decision-making
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively liaise with internal and external stakeholders
  • Proven track record in implementing vendor management strategies to enhance operational efficiency and cost control
  • Thorough understanding of procurement processes, supply chain management, and relevant industry regulations
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and lead cross-functional initiatives
