The Safety Officer 2 (SO2) is responsible for implementing and monitoring company and client safety programs in compliance with the Occupational Safety and Health Standards (OSHS) and Republic Act The SO2 ensures workplace safety, conducts regular inspections, and enforces corrective actions to prevent accidents, injuries, and unsafe practices.

II. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESA. Compliance & Documentation

  • Ensure compliance with RA 11058, DOLE OSH Standards, and company safety policies.
  • Maintain complete safety records such as:
  • Accident/incident reports
  • Risk assessments
  • Safety inspection checklists
  • Toolbox meeting logs
  • Ensure all safety documents are properly filed and submitted to DOLE when applicable.
  • Assist in the preparation of OSH programs and reports.

B. Workplace Inspection & Hazard Control

  • Conduct daily site inspections and identify unsafe acts, unsafe conditions, and hazards.
  • Recommend corrective actions and ensure timely closure of safety findings.
  • Monitor the proper use of PPE and safety devices.
  • Check machines, tools, equipment, and work areas for safety compliance.
  • Conduct FOG/FOD checks, hazard identification, and risk assessment.

C. Safety Orientation & Training

  • Conduct safety orientations for new employees, subcontractors, and visitors.
  • Lead daily toolbox meetings and safety briefings.
  • Assist in facilitating mandatory OSH trainings and monthly safety meetings.
  • Promote safety awareness and good safety practices among all workers.

D. Incident Response & Investigation

  • Respond to emergency situations, near misses, accidents, or unsafe behavior.
  • Conduct incident and near-miss investigations.
  • Prepare detailed investigation reports with corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Coordinate with HR and Operations in implementing sanctions for violations.

E. Emergency Preparedness

  • Monitor emergency exits, evacuation plans, fire extinguishers, and first aid kits.
  • Assist in organizing emergency drills (fire, earthquake, evacuation).
  • Act as First Aider when necessary (if certified).

F. Coordination & Communication

  • Coordinate safety concerns with client representatives, contractors, and internal departments.
  • Update management regarding safety issues, trends, and incident statistics.
  • Ensure all employees understand and follow company and client safety rules.

G. Other Functions

  • Assist Safety Supervisor/Manager in additional safety projects and compliance programs.
  • Perform other related duties as required by management.

III. QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be a certified Safety Officer 2 (SO2) with 40-hr DOLE Basic OSH Training.
  • Preferably with First Aid or BLS certification.
  • At least 2 year experience in safety or related field (construction, logistics, aviation, engineering, or manpower outsourcing).
  • Knowledgeable in incident investigation, hazard identification, and basic emergency response.
  • Good communication, observation skills, and reporting skills.
  • Physically fit and willing to be assigned on site.

Pay: Php22, Php25,000.00 per month
