Job Summary:

The Accountant will be responsible for managing financial transactions, preparing financial reports, ensuring compliance with tax regulations, and overseeing general accounting operations. The role requires a strong understanding of financial reporting, taxation, and internal controls to support the financial health of the company.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Financial Reporting & Analysis:

  2. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with accounting standards.

  3. Conduct financial analysis and provide insights to support business decisions.

  4. General Accounting:

  5. Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial adjustments.

  6. Maintain and update the general ledger.

  7. Tax Compliance & Regulatory Filings:

  8. Prepare and file tax returns (VAT, EWT, Income Tax, etc.) accurately and on time.

  9. Ensure compliance with Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) and other regulatory requirements.

  10. Accounts Payable & Receivable Management:

  11. Monitor and process payments to suppliers and vendors.

  12. Oversee collections and manage customer accounts.

  13. Audit & Internal Controls:

  14. Coordinate with external auditors for annual audits and ensure compliance with audit requirements.

  15. Implement and maintain internal control procedures to safeguard company assets.

  16. Budgeting & Cost Management:

  17. Assist in preparing budgets and forecasts.

  18. Monitor expenses and recommend cost-saving initiatives.

  19. Other Duties:

  20. Support management with financial data and reports as needed.

  21. Stay updated on accounting policies, regulations, and best practices.

Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy, Finance, or a related field.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license is preferred but not required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in general accounting, financial reporting, and taxation.
  • Strong knowledge of BIR regulations, tax laws, and financial reporting standards (PFRS/IFRS).
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, SAP, or other ERP systems).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in the restaurant, hotel, or retail industry is an advantage.
