The Accountant will be responsible for managing financial transactions, preparing financial reports, ensuring compliance with tax regulations, and overseeing general accounting operations. The role requires a strong understanding of financial reporting, taxation, and internal controls to support the financial health of the company.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Reporting & Analysis:
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with accounting standards.
  • Conduct financial analysis and provide insights to support business decisions.
  • General Accounting:
  • Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial adjustments.
  • Maintain and update the general ledger.
  • Tax Compliance & Regulatory Filings:
  • Prepare and file tax returns (VAT, EWT, Income Tax, etc.) accurately and on time.
  • Ensure compliance with Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) and other regulatory requirements.
  • Accounts Payable & Receivable Management:
  • Monitor and process payments to suppliers and vendors.
  • Oversee collections and manage customer accounts.
  • Audit & Internal Controls:
  • Coordinate with external auditors for annual audits and ensure compliance with audit requirements.
  • Implement and maintain internal control procedures to safeguard company assets.
  • Budgeting & Cost Management:
  • Assist in preparing budgets and forecasts.
  • Monitor expenses and recommend cost-saving initiatives.
  • Other Duties:
  • Support management with financial data and reports as needed.
  • Stay updated on accounting policies, regulations, and best practices.

Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy, Finance, or a related field.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license is preferred but not required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in general accounting, financial reporting, and taxation.
  • Strong knowledge of BIR regulations, tax laws, and financial reporting standards (PFRS/IFRS).
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, SAP, or other ERP systems).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in the restaurant, hotel, or retail industry is an advantage.
