About the role

We are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager (CPA) to join our dynamic team at MANILA BANKERS LIFE INSURANCE CORP'. In this full-time position based in Makati City, Metro Manila, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the financial accounting and reporting functions of the organisation.

What you'll be doing

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the accounting department, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting
  • Prepare and analyse financial statements, budgets, and other financial reports to support strategic decision-making
  • Oversee the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and internal policies
  • Manage and develop a team of accounting professionals, providing guidance and mentorship
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement process improvements
  • Ensure the company's accounting systems and controls are effective and efficient
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in accounting regulations and best practices, and advise the organisation accordingly

What we're looking for

  • A qualified Certified Public Accountant (CPA) with at least 5 years of experience in a similar role
  • Proven track record of managing the full accounting cycle, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret financial data and identify areas for improvement
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to mentor and develop a team of accounting professionals
  • Proficient in the use of accounting software and MS Office suite
  • Thorough understanding of financial reporting standards and regulations, particularly in the insurance industry
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
