Position Purpose:
The Assistant Manager - Critical Systems and Technical Maintenance is a key role responsible for the overall management, supervision, and execution of preventive maintenance, functionality, and upkeep of all critical equipment and essential facilities systems across multiple call center sites within the Philippines. This role ensures the continuous and reliable operation of infrastructure vital to the 24/7 nature of the call center business.
Job Responsibilities:
- Preventive Maintenance Program Management: Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive preventive maintenance schedules for all critical equipment, including but not limited to:
- Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) systems
- Generators (standby and prime power)
- Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems, including precision cooling units for server rooms
- Fire suppression systems (FM-200, Novec, sprinkler systems)
- Electrical distribution systems (switchgear, transformers, panelboards)
- Structured cabling infrastructure
- Building management systems (BMS)
- Security systems (access control, CCTV)
- Plumbing and sanitary systems
- Supervise a team of maintenance technicians, providing guidance, training, and performance management.
- Coordinate with site-level technical staff to ensure adherence to maintenance schedules and standards.
- Assign tasks, monitor progress, and ensure efficient utilization of resources and foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Respond promptly to equipment failures and facility-related issues across all sites.
- Diagnose problems, perform necessary repairs, or coordinate with external vendors for specialized repairs.
- Maintain detailed records of all maintenance and repair activities.
- Regularly inspect critical equipment and facilities to identify potential issues, ensuring optimal functionality and operational readiness.
- Manage third-party vendors, consultants, and general contractors regularly as required
- during PM frequencies.
- Maintain positive relationships with local authorities, community stakeholders, and utility companies.
- Oversee general upkeep of facilities, including electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems.
- Ensure all equipment and systems operate within their specified parameters and efficiency levels
- Obtain quotes, evaluate proposals, and manage vendor performance to ensure cost effectiveness and quality of service.
- Ensure all maintenance activities comply with relevant Philippine building codes, safety regulations, and environmental standards.
- Implement and enforce safety procedures during maintenance and repair work.
- Maintain accurate records of safety inspections and certifications.
- Respond promptly to equipment failures and facility-related issues across all sites.
- Diagnose problems, perform necessary repairs, or coordinate with external vendors for specialized repairs.
- Obtain quotes, evaluate proposals, and manage vendor performance to ensure cost effectiveness and quality of service.
- Oversee documentation, recordkeeping of all vendor records.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation for all critical equipment, including manuals, schematics, maintenance logs, and repair records.
- Prepare regular reports on the status of equipment, maintenance activities, and any potential issues.
- Contribute to the development of standard operating procedures (SOPs) for maintenance tasks.
- Assist in the planning and execution of minor facility upgrades or equipment replacement projects.
- Coordinate with internal departments and external contractors to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Identify and implement opportunities for energy efficiency improvements within the call center facilities.
- Monitor energy consumption of critical equipment and recommend measures to reduce operational costs.
- Develop and participate in emergency response plans related to equipment failures or facility incidents.
- Provide technical support during emergencies to minimize downtime and ensure the safety of personnel.
Job Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electronics and Communications Engineering, or a related technical field
- Proven experience of at least 5-7 years in a similar role, preferably within a multi-site operation or a 24/7 mission-critical environment such as data centers, manufacturing plants, or large commercial facilities
- Prior experience in the call center industry is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of critical equipment operation, maintenance, and repair, including UPS systems, generators, HVAC, and fire suppression systems.
- Familiarity with Philippine electrical codes, building codes, and safety regulations.
- Excellent communication (both written and verbal) and people skills.
- Willingness to travel to dierent call center locations across the Philippines as required.
- Professional certifications related to facilities management or specific equipment maintenance (e.g., Certified Plant Engineer, etc.) are an advantage.
- Strong knowledge of real estate development process, including entitlement, design, permitting, and construction.
