Responsibilities:
- Recording Transactions: Enter all financial transactions, including sales, purchases, payments, and receipts, into the accounting system in a timely and accurate manner
- Maintaining Ledgers: Manage and update the general ledger, ensuring that all accounts are reconciled and balanced. Monitor and track account balances to identify any discrepancies or issues
- Accounts Payable and Receivable: Process accounts payable by verifying and recording invoices, issuing checks or electronic payments, and ensuring timely payment of bills. Manage accounts receivable by invoicing customers, tracking payments, and following up on outstanding balances
- Bank Reconciliation: Regularly reconcile bank statements with the company's financial records to ensure accuracy and identify any discrepancies. Investigate and resolve any issues that arise during the reconciliation process
- Payroll Processing: Assist with payroll processing, including calculating employee wages, taxes, and deductions, and ensuring timely and accurate payment to employees. Maintain payroll records and generate necessary reports
- Financial Reporting: Prepare financial statements, such as balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, on a regular basis. Provide reports to management to support decision-making and financial planning
- Compliance and Record-Keeping: Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and company policies. Maintain organized and secure financial records, both in digital and physical formats, for easy access and audit purposes
Requirement:
- High school diploma or GED required. Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred
- At least 2-3 years of experience in bookkeeping or a related accounting role. Experience with small to mid-sized businesses is a plus
- Possess excellent communication abilities, coupled with a rigorous and methodical approach to problem-solving, and demonstrate patience in all interactions
- Excellent organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks and deadlines
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with team members, management, and external parties
