- GENERAL FUNCTION:
This position is responsible for ensuring efficient, accurate and continuous production of high quality products to meet both internal and external customer demands. The key challenge of this position is to maintain both accuracy and flexibility in planning to be able to achieve overall goals and objectives. This position is also responsible for the efficiency in toll and bundling operations.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Departmental Coordination
Coordinates and communicates with different departments on plans and concerns that will affect production:
Marketing and Sales – on promotions, special packing and sampling.
R&D/QA – on product development and changes in formulation and procedures; on materials and product quality.
Purchasing – on materials costs and supplier concerns.
Logistics – on inventories of materials and finished goods.
Regularly attends Sales and Marketing Operations Meeting to be able to link the Marketing and Sales plan with the production plan; checks if production capacity can meet the demand requirements
Production Planning
Prepares and updates production schedules based on demand requirements and production capacity, which include time per shift of workers, adjusted dates of production, and planning value on the quantity needed based on capacity of manpower and machine.
Coordinates with the Production Supervisor for the updated machine and manpower quota.
Handles requisition of materials of the production area that will be needed for production run.
Prepares manufacturing order reports for the production officer based on the demand requirement.
Ensures proper timing of production by regularly checking status and outputs of the previous day and implementing scheduled runs for the day.
Materials Requirement Planning
Prepares and updates the materials requirement plan by doing the following tasks:
Adjusting the materials requirement incorporating the current materials inventory.
Adjusting the date of delivery of materials based on the supplier's lead-time.
Adjusting the date and quantities needed based on the production schedule.
Aligning the arrival of raw and packaging materials with the production schedule.
Incorporating waste allowance on material requirement quantities.
Coordinates with the suppliers on the materials procurement given the date and quantity needed; coordinates with QA regarding rejected materials.
Monitoring
Regularly monitors finished goods inventory to ensure availability of products at all times.
Ensures accuracy of forecasts by comparing the percentage of withdrawal versus the forecast.
Regularly monitors and keeps track of raw and packaging materials inventory and delivery performance.
Prepares the following reports:
Planning reports
Inventory status
Hit rate sales
Toll Operations
Supervises the scheduling and dispatching for toll manufacturers.
Immediately addresses concerns related to toll manufacturing operations.
Bundling Operations
Reviews, supervises and monitors bundling operations.Checks and reviews the Time and Motion Study as basis for costing for the bundling activity.
