We are a premier social hostel brand and tour operator dedicated to providing unforgettable island experiences in the Philippines. We operate a fast-paced environment that includes accommodation, high-volume food and beverage outlets, and boat tour operations. We are looking for an Accountant who can keep our numbers as organized as our tours are adventurous.

We are seeking a detail-oriented and trustworthy Accountant to manage the financial health of our operations. You will oversee all financial data compliance, including accurate recording of revenue from multiple streams (Rooms, F&B, Tours), inventory control, payroll processing, and strict adherence to Philippine tax laws (BIR).

You will play a crucial role in minimizing costs and maximizing profitability by providing the management team with accurate, timely financial reports.

1. Financial Management & Reporting

• Bookkeeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date General Ledgers for all business units (Hostel, Bar/Restaurant, Tour Operations).
• Revenue Reconciliation: Daily reconciliation of sales reports from the Property Management System (PMS) and Point of Sale (POS) against cash, credit card, and OTA (Online Travel Agency) deposits.
• Financial Statements: Prepare monthly Profit & Loss statements, Balance Sheets, and Cash Flow statements.
• Cash Flow Management: Monitor daily cash flow, manage petty cash funds, and forecast weekly cash requirements for operations (boat fuel, market supplies, etc.).

2. Inventory & Cost Control

• COGS Analysis: Calculate and monitor Cost of Goods Sold for the bar and restaurant to identify wastage or theft.
• Inventory Audits: Conduct random and scheduled spot checks of inventory (liquor, food, housekeeping supplies, and boat fuel).
• Supplier Management: Verify invoices against delivery receipts, process payments to suppliers, and negotiate payment terms where possible.

3. Government Compliance

• Tax Filing: Prepare and file monthly, quarterly, and annual returns with the BIR (VAT, Withholding Tax, Income Tax, etc.) ensuring zero penalties.
• Statutory Benefits: Process and remit government contributions for all employees (SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG) in a timely manner.
• Permits: Assist in the renewal of business permits and other local government requirements.

4. Payroll Administration

• Compute semi-monthly payroll for various staff types (regular employees, boat crew, daily wagers) including overtime, night differential, and holiday pay in accordance with DOLE standards.
• Distribute payslips and resolve any payroll discrepancies.

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Accountancy, Finance, or a related field.
• Licensure: CPA (Certified Public Accountant) is preferred but not required if experience is extensive.

• Experience:

• Minimum 2–3 years of experience in general accounting.

• Technical Skills:

• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks, or similar cloud-based platforms).

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables).
• Knowledge: Deep understanding of Philippine Tax Codes and Labor Laws.

• Integrity: Uncompromising honesty, especially regarding cash handling and confidential financial data.
• Analytical Thinking: Ability to look at a P&L sheet and tell the owners why food costs are up or where we can save money.
• Adaptability: Comfortable working in a casual, energetic hostel environment rather than a stiff corporate office, while maintaining professional standards.
• Communication: Able to explain financial concepts to non-financial operational staff (e.g., explaining to the Head Chef why inventory counts matter).
