The Accountant is a member of the Finance and Accounting team and has a functional reporting line to Accounts Supervisor / Process Owner. Responsible for conducting accounting and period end reporting tasks according to Gearbulk Internal Control System for Finance and Accounting department.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible to conduct defined tasks and routines related to daily operations and period end routines for Gearbulk Finance Accounting team according to Gearbulk's Internal Control System for Finance & Accounting department
  • Responsible to contribute to ensure that Finance and Accounting Team is compliant with duties and responsibilities outlined in Gearbulk's Internal Control System and to ensure high quality and timely deliveries according to period end schedules
  • Responsible for being back-up to Finance and Accounting team members when required, i.e. during absence of team members and/or in transition periods.
  • Responsible together with line manager and Finance and Accounting Team for preparation and maintenance of work descriptions and work guidelines for Finance and Accounting Team for all relevant work processes and tasks performed
  • Optimize work processes relevant for Finance and Accounting Team where possible and participate in improvement projects and similar when required
  • Responsible to support completion and implementation of annual objectives set by functional line manager
  • To collaborate with all Gearbulk and G2 Ocean finance/accounting team members on all levels to ensure efficient operations for Gearbulk Group and Gearbulk Finance team

Knowledge and Skill requirements

  • Bachelor/master's in accounting and/or Finance
  • At least 3 to 4-years professional accounting experience
  • Strong accounting knowledge, control, and reporting skills.
  • Proficient in IT applications and familiar with ERP systems and general accounting software functionality
  • High proficiency in English, written and verbal
  • Ability to work effectively and remain calm under pressure, especially during peak periods.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Php25, Php35,000.00 per month
