About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled
Tech Lead
with hands-on expertise to guide a team of engineers in building high-traffic, scalable web applications. The ideal candidate has deep experience across
full-stack development, cloud infrastructure (AWS), and distributed systems
, and can mentor engineers while leading complex projects to success.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Delivery

• Lead and mentor a team of 5–10 engineers; 2–4+ years of Tech Lead/Staff experience required.
• Deliver high-traffic, user-facing applications with 99.9%+ availability, defined SLOs, and fast rollback strategies.
• Author design docs/ADRs, set technical strategy, enforce code quality, unblock teams, and lead incident resolution as Incident Commander.

Backend / TypeScript / NestJS w/ Fastify)

• Expert in TypeScript and NestJS modules, DI, interceptors, and guards.
• Robust REST design with OpenAPI 3.0 contracts, versioning, consistent error models, and idempotency.
• Implement reliability patterns: timeouts, retries with jitter, circuit breakers, bulkheads, back-pressure, and outbox pattern.

Frontend (React + 14 / App Router)

• Master SSR/ISR/RSC, route handlers, streaming, cache semantics, and edge/CDN behavior.
• Optimize Core Web Vitals (LCP/CLS/INP), accessibility, and resilient error/loading states.
• Implement multi-brand design-token/theming without code forks; maintain contract-driven API collaboration.

Data & Async Pipelines

• PostgreSQL: schema design, indexing, query plans, connection pooling, zero-downtime migrations.
• Redis: caching strategies, TTL, rate limiting, session & job coordination.
• Messaging queues: SQS (or equivalent) with DLQs, idempotent consumers, and replay tooling.

AWS Cloud Expertise (Must-Have)

• Networking & IAM: VPC, public/private subnets, NAT, Security Groups/NACLs, Route 53, IAM, KMS, Secrets Manager.
• Compute & Containers: ECS Fargate or EKS, EC2 Auto Scaling, ECR, ALB/Ingress; blue/green & canary rollouts.
• Data & Caching: RDS/Aurora Postgres (Multi-AZ, read replicas, backups), ElastiCache Redis.
• Messaging & Edge: SQS/SNS, S3 (lifecycle/encryption, presigned URLs), CloudFront, WAF/Shield.
• Observability & CI/CD: CloudWatch/X-Ray, OpenTelemetry; Terraform/CDK/CloudFormation; GitHub Actions or AWS CodeBuild/CodePipeline; automated rollback on SLO breach.

Security & Data Protection

• OWASP Top 10, OAuth/OIDC/JWT, CSP/HSTS, secure upload handling, dependency/container scanning.
• Practical PII handling and auditability across app and data layers.

Media/Asset Pipeline

• Server-side image compositing, batch mockup generation, file validation/scanning, CDN cache-busting, graceful fallbacks.
• Integration with third-party image generation APIs with safety filters and cost controls.

Communication & Collaboration

• Excellent written and spoken English (C1+) for RFCs/runbooks, concise stakeholder updates, and calm incident communication.
• Mentor senior and mid-level engineers; facilitate pragmatic, data-backed technical decisions.

Nice-to-Haves

• Performance engineering (k6/Locust, flamegraphs), DB/Redis/queue hotspot tuning at scale.
• Exposure to SOC2, GDPR, or CCPA compliance.

Requirements:

• 8+ years professional software engineering experience.
• 2–4+ years as Tech Lead/Staff guiding 5–10 engineers.
• Hands-on expertise in full-stack + development.
• Strong AWS cloud architecture experience.
• Proven track record delivering high-availability web applications.
