About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Paralegal to join a Canadian legal team remotely. This is a strategic, high-responsibility position for professionals with proven expertise in Canadian legal procedures and complex case management. Applicants must be based in the Philippines and capable of handling sophisticated legal matters independently while collaborating with senior lawyers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advanced Legal Research & Analysis: Conduct in-depth legal research on statutes, case law, and regulatory frameworks to inform high-stakes decisions and legal strategy.
  • Document Drafting & Review: Draft, review, and refine complex legal documents including contracts, pleadings, corporate agreements, and regulatory filings, ensuring compliance with Canadian standards.
  • Client & Stakeholder Liaison: Act as a trusted point of contact for clients, witnesses, and external counsel, managing communications with professionalism and discretion.
  • Case & Project Management: Oversee multiple complex cases simultaneously, maintain meticulous records, and implement best practices in document and workflow management.
  • Court & Regulatory Preparation: Prepare sophisticated case materials for hearings, corporate compliance submissions, and regulatory filings, ensuring accuracy and completeness.

Qualifications / Skills

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Law, Paralegal Studies, or equivalent. Advanced certifications or specialized training in Canadian law are highly preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of progressive paralegal experience, with demonstrable work on Canadian legal matters, corporate law, litigation, or regulatory compliance.
  • Technical Expertise: Proficiency in legal research databases (Westlaw, LexisNexis), case management systems, document automation, and secure communication platforms.
  • Analytical & Strategic Thinking: Ability to analyze complex legal issues and provide actionable recommendations for senior counsel.
  • Communication Excellence: Exceptional written and verbal English skills, with the ability to draft precise legal documents and present clear summaries to senior legal teams.
  • Professional Integrity & Confidentiality: High ethical standards, discretion in handling sensitive information, and strong adherence to professional responsibility.
