Job Brief

We are seeking a highly organised Travel Agent who will be responsible for planning and booking customised travel itineraries for clients, including flights, accommodation, and activities. They manage all aspects of travel arrangements, offer destination advice, resolve issues as they arise, and ensure seamless travel experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Meet with clients to determine travel preferences, budget, and objectives

  • Book flights, hotels, car rentals, and tour packages using GDS systems

  • Create detailed day-by-day itineraries

  • Advise clients on destinations, local customs, documentation, and health protocols

  • Resolve travel issues such as cancellations, delays, or booking changes

  • Maintain accurate records of bookings and transactions

  • Promote and sell tour packages to achieve sales targets

Requirements

  • Proven customer service experience

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Attention to detail and strong organisational skills

  • Problem-solving abilities under pressure

  • Sales aptitude and negotiation skills

  • In-depth knowledge of travel destinations, documentation, and protocols

  • Must have experience with Amadeus and Events Air

Software Proficiency

  • Amadeus

  • Events Air

  • Global Distribution Systems (GDS)

  • Online booking platforms

Desirable

  • Familiarity with other GDS platforms such as Sabre

  • Experience planning travel for events or corporate groups

Personal Attributes

  • Professional and friendly demeanour

  • Reliable and proactive

  • Able to work independently and handle multiple clients

Education

  • Certificate or Diploma in Travel and Tourism, or equivalent industry experience

Time Zone: Australian Business Hours
