About the role

The Materials Compliance Database Programmer will serve as a technical role with a primary focus on the backend program development. This role will mainly focus on to create, improve and maintain new or existing materials compliance and ethical sourcing database efficiently for Nidec Motion and Energy. The ideal candidate will work closely with material compliance specialist and sustainability specialist to ensure seamless data integration, accuracy and accessibility.

Partial of this job will focus on materials compliance activities (tracking, recording and reporting) for an internal business customer. What you'll be doing

Develop, improve and maintain backend applications for new or existing materials compliance and ethical sourcing database. Support frontend developer to integrate backend functionality with user interface. Design and optimize SQL database to handle database efficiently.

Work with frontend developer to build API and web service to support data retrieval, reporting and system integration. Write and maintain scripts in PHP, Python or other backend languages to automate data process. Implement security and data integrity measures to protect database information including encryption, user access control, data masking and data backup.

Collaborate with different teams and supply chain teams to enhance data reporting capabilities. Tracking, recording and reporting material compliance and ethical sourcing activities for an internal business customer. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the immediate head from time to time.

What we're looking for

Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science and Computer Engineering from accredited college or university

Efficient knowledge in PHP, Python, SQL or other languages (HTML, JavaScript, CSS)Experience in database design, query optimization and management (MySOL, PostgreSQL, or similar)Experience in database extract, transform, and load process including migration. cleansing and pipeline automation

Experience with data processing and automation for text and numerical value reporting

Good in communication skills

Willing to work in different shifts (morning, mid or night shift) and extended hours as required by operations
