Job description:
The Project Management Head is responsible for the engineering and technical disciplines needed to complete a project. The Project Head works to plan projects, establish project criteria, coordinate project reviews, and ensure the proper implementation of project elements.
1. Strategic Planning
- Develop project management frameworks and methodologies.
- Align project goals with company objectives.
- Forecast project pipelines and resource needs.
2. Project Execution & Oversight
- Oversee the end-to-end delivery of multiple small to large-scale infrastructure projects.
- Ensure adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
- Manage risk assessments and mitigation strategies.
3. Team Leadership
- Lead and mentor project managers and cross-functional teams.
- Allocate tasks and monitor performance.
- Conduct regular reviews and provide support to resolve bottlenecks.
4. Stakeholder Management
- Act as the primary liaison between clients, government bodies, contractors, and internal teams.
- Ensure effective communication across all levels.
5. Compliance & Quality Assurance
- Enforce adherence to local regulations, environmental laws, and health & safety standards.
- Implement robust quality control mechanisms.
6. Budgeting & Cost Control
- Approve project budgets and monitor expenditure.
- Implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT
· Graduate of Civil, Sanitary, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, preferably licensed
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
· Minimum 10 years applicable or relevant work experience
· At least 5 years in project management in infrastructure projects including leadership roles
SKILLS REQUIREMENTS
· Exemplary work experience as a project engineer, and project manager preferably in water/wastewater project
· Deep understanding of construction regulations and technical drawings.
· Negotiation & conflict resolution.
· Risk and contract management.
· Significant working knowledge of design and visualization software such as AutoCAD
· Advanced MS Office skills
· Familiarity and ability to comply with all applicable rules, regulations, best practices, and performance standards
· Aptitude for working collaboratively with multiple disciplines within teams and projects
· Proven success in the areas of project management and supervision
· Current certifications in applicable skills a plus
· Ability to lead, manage and develop a team
