
Accounting Assistant

The Accounting Assistant is responsible for providing support to the Finance and Accounting Department in maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, and assisting in the preparation of financial reports. This role ensures compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and statutory requirements while contributing to the efficient operation of the organization's financial processes.
Key Responsibilities and Tasks
A. Financial Transaction Processing
- Record daily financial transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and journal entries.
- Process invoices, expense claims, and reimbursements in accordance with company policies.
- Assist in the preparation and issuance of official receipts, vouchers, and checks.
- Ensure timely settlement of obligations to suppliers, vendors, and other service providers.
B. Record-Keeping and Documentation
- Maintain accurate and organized filing of accounting records, vouchers, invoices, and other financial documents.
- Encode financial data into the accounting system with accuracy and timeliness.
- Assist in monitoring and reconciling bank statements, accounts, and ledgers.
C. Financial Reporting Support
- Provide assistance in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Support the preparation of schedules, reconciliations, and other requirements for internal and external audits.
- Assist in monitoring budget utilization and reporting variances.
D. Compliance and Coordination
- Ensure compliance with statutory requirements (e.g., BIR filings, government contributions) under the guidance of the Accounting Supervisor.
- Coordinate with suppliers, clients, and internal departments regarding billing and payment concerns.
- Support management in the implementation of accounting policies and procedures.
E. Other Tasks
- Perform clerical and administrative tasks related to accounting operations.
- Handle ad-hoc tasks as may be assigned by the Accounting Supervisor or Finance Manager.
