QA Tester

Purpose of the Position To ensure the quality, reliability, and performance of Technologies' software products through the design, execution, and continuous improvement of testing processes.

The QA Tester is responsible for validating that systems meet functional and non-functional requirements, maintaining test coverage, and contributing to the secure and reliable delivery of each release.

Extent of Authority This position operates with a high degree of autonomy under broad direction from the product manager. It requires initiative, analytical judgment, and the ability to provide leadership and guidance on quality assurance practices within the established strategic and architectural frameworks of Technologies.

Test Planning & Design Develop and maintain comprehensive test plans

and test cases based on system requirements

Test Execution Conduct manual and automated testing of web

and API-based applications to validate

functionality, performance, and security.

Quality Assurance Leadership Provide expertise in QA methodologies and tools

and support continuous improvement across

development and release processes.

Defect Identification & Tracking Identify, document, and track defects accurately

using agreed systems and ensure timely

resolution.

Security Focused Ensure that all QA processes support'

Secure Development Lifecycle (SDL) and security

testing standards.

Continuous Improvement Identify and implement improvements to

processes, tooling, and technology stacks to

enhance team productivity and software quality.

• Work closely with developers to reproduce, diagnose, and verify defect fixes.

• Participate in sprint planning and review sessions to ensure test coverage for all deliverables.

• Implement and maintain automated test suites where appropriate.

• Collaborate with development and operations teams to maintain quality across CI/CD pipelines.

• Provide QA sign-off for releases once all acceptance criteria and security standards have been

met.

• Participate in the design and improvement of internal QA tools, frameworks, and reporting

processes.

• Ensure that testing artefacts and results are documented and traceable

Position Holder Attributes / Key Selection Criteria

• Proven experience in software testing within a commercial software development

environment.

• Thorough understanding of QA methodologies, test design techniques, and defect

management processes.

• Experience testing web applications, APIs, and databases.

• Familiarity with automation frameworks such as Selenium, Playwright, or similar.

• Experience working with Azure DevOps, Git, and CI/CD pipelines.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills (English).

• Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a development

team.

• Awareness of secure coding and testing practices.

• A relevant tertiary qualification in information technology or a related discipline is desirable.
