We're looking for an experienced Intermediate QA Tester to lead quality assurance efforts across enterprise-grade insurance platforms for a respected Australian insurance technology company. You'll work closely with developers and business analysts based in Australia to test Java-based web applications, ensuring they meet client expectations and industry standards.

This role suits someone with 5+ years of QA experience, a sharp eye for detail, and the confidence to take ownership of testing initiatives. If you've supported international software projects and thrive in fast-paced environments where quality matters, we'd love to meet you.

Key Responsibilities

Software Testing

  • Design, execute, and maintain robust manual and automated test cases for Java-based web applications
  • Build and run automation scripts using Selenium or similar tools
  • Conduct web-service and API testing using tools like Postman or SoapUI
  • Validate backend data using SQL queries and relational databases
  • Contribute to test planning, estimation, and strategy discussions

Quality Assurance & Collaboration

  • Log, track, and verify defects in coordination with development teams
  • Lead internal QA reviews and promote testing best practices
  • Communicate clearly with developers, analysts, and clients to resolve issues
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of test results, revisions, and QA metrics
  • Mentor junior testers and contribute to team knowledge sharing

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field
  • 5-8 years of hands-on experience in software testing
  • Strong proficiency in manual testing and automation frameworks
  • Experience with Selenium or equivalent tools
  • Solid understanding of API testing and SQL
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and analytical skills
  • Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Preferred Background
  • Experience working on Australian or international software projects
  • Exposure to insurance or financial platforms is a strong advantage
