MENTAL EFFORT

Basic Function: To help patients and families adjust to the hospital situation: services, limitations, policies, rules and regulations. To assist the physician and other team members gain an understanding of the socio‑ behavioral and economic situation of patients and their families to be able to arrive at a holistic approach to diagnosis and treatment. To help patients and their families in the rehabilitation during confinement, and after discharge by skillful use of their own resources, those of the agency and those of the community.

Duties & Responsibilities

Functional Duties:

  1. Interviews and evaluates the psycho‑social and economic problems of individual patients and their families through interview.

  2. Makes a follow‑up in case the patient or his family was not able to comply with the requirements needed for the processing of the social service.

  3. May, in some cases, call or make a follow-up on the concerned NGO or government agencies on the assistance given to discharged patients.

  4. Prepares case studies and other requirements needed by the patients.

  5. Conducts regular visits to patients and continues to establish a purposeful relationship and dynamic interaction with them to gain their trust and confidence

  6. Ensures that the patient and his family are emotionally and financially prepared for the forthcoming discharge.

  7. Makes sure that patient was properly assisted upon his discharge.

  8. Complies with other related duties that may be assigned by immediate superior from time to time.
