The Cook 3 plays a key role in upholding kitchen hygiene, safety protocols, and quality control while continuously developing culinary skills to grow within the team.
- Bachelor's degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management
- Graduate in any Commercial Cookery related course.
- At least 1 year experience working in the food industry as a Cook
- Basic Understanding of food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards.
- Mastery of cooking techniques ( e.g. grilling, sauteing, baking)
- Ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced kitchen
- Prepping ingredients efficiently (mise en place)
- Teamwork & communication
- Assist in basic food preparation such as peeling, chopping, slicing and portioning ingredients
- Prepare mise en place for assigned station
- Cook of finish simple menu items under the guidance of senior cooks or chefs
- Follow standard recipes, portion sizes and presentation guidelines
- Keep assigned kitchen station clean, organized, and well-stocked
- Set up and break down station at the beginning and end of shifts
- Adhere to food safety and hygiene regulations
- Ensure proper handling, storage, and labelling of food items
- Report any spoiled or expired products to supervisors
- Assist in receiving, unpacking and storing supplies
- Rotate stock and monitor inventory levels for restocking
- Work closely with other kitchen staff and follow instructions from senior cooks or chefs
- Communicate effectively to ensure smooth kitchen operation
- Participate in training and development opportunities
- Show initiative in learning new skills and improving performance
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Able to communicate effectively with co-workers
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Ability to learn quickly
- Ability to follow par stock levels and food rotation standards
- Ability to control food waste and spoilage
- Ability to follow standard recipe
