Job Description: Social Media Content Officer

The Social Media Content Officer is responsible for planning, creating, and publishing engaging digital content across all social media platforms to strengthen brand awareness, drive customer engagement, and support business objectives. This role will focus heavily on creating relevant, effective, and high-impact video content alongside static and interactive posts.

Key Responsibilities


• Develop and execute a social media content calendar aligned with marketing campaigns and business goals.


• Conceptualize, script, shoot, and edit short-form and long-form videos for platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube.


• Create engaging visual and written content (posts, reels, stories, infographics, memes, captions, etc.) that resonate with the target audience.


• Collaborate with marketing, sales, and operations teams to align content with promotions, campaigns, and seasonal pushes.


• Ensure consistent brand voice, tone, and visual identity across all social platforms.


• Monitor performance of posts and campaigns through analytics, providing insights and recommendations for improvement.


• Stay updated with the latest social media trends, formats, and best practices to ensure content remains relevant and competitive.


• Manage community engagement by responding to comments, messages, and inquiries when needed.


• Coordinate with external creative agencies, freelancers, or partners when required.

Job Qualifications

Education & Background


• Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Multimedia Arts, Advertising, or a related field.


• At least 2–3 years of proven experience in social media content creation, preferably in retail, lifestyle, or service industries.

Skills & Competencies


• Strong background in video content creation: shooting, editing, and optimizing for different social media formats.


• Proficiency in video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro, CapCut, Canva, or similar tools).


• Solid skills in graphic design and photo editing (Photoshop, Illustrator, Canva, Figma, or related).


• Excellent writing and storytelling skills for captions, scripts, and campaign narratives.


• Knowledge of social media platforms' algorithms and trends, particularly Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube.


• Ability to analyze social media insights and adjust strategies for better performance.


• Creative thinker with strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.


• Strong communication and collaboration skills; comfortable working with cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications


• Experience in running paid social media ads and understanding of targeting and optimization.


• Knowledge of community management and customer engagement strategies.


• Portfolio of past video and content projects is a plus.
